 | | Muli Peleg is a professor of political communication at the School of communication at Tel Aviv University, Israel. He is also the academic director of the Strategic Dialogue Center, at Netanya College. Dr. Peleg is an expert in conflict and conflict resolution processes and he is a research fellow at the Stanford Center for Conflict resolution and negotiation (SCCN). His areas of research and interest are dynamics of war and peace, political violence and terrorism, and the connections between politics, society and culture. He has published several articles and books among them Spreading the Wrath of God (1997, Hebrew), Zealotry and Vengeance- quest of Religious Identity Group (2002, Lexington Books), and If Words Could Kill: the Failure of Public Discourse in Israel (2003, Hebrew University Press)and most recently Fighting Terrorism in the Liberal State (IOS Press, 2006). Professor Peleg writes columns in the Israeli daily press and he appears frequently on TV and radio as a political commentator. He is a senior researcher at the Japanese TODA organization and of the APSA- American Political Science Association and IPRA- the International Peace Research Association. He had taught courses in prestigious universities in the USA and is a regular participant in professional and activist conferences. In March 2005, he was one of the honoraries to be invited by the esteemed Club of Madrid, to the International Summit on Democracy, Terrorism and Security in Madrid.
Samuel Peleg, or Muli Peleg as he is known in Israel, is a long time peace activist. After his military service as a tank commander in the Israeli Army, he became the spokesperson for the Peace Now movement and then became the close advisor and confident of Yossi Beilin, the former Minister of Justice and the initiator of the Oslo Agreements (1993) and the Geneva Accord (2004). Professor Peleg has been a top advisor on leadership and peace processes for the Peres Center for Peace and the New Israel Fund. He has also counseled the Prime Minister’s office, the Foreign Office and the National Security Council.
Currently, Professor Peleg is the Israeli Co-Chairman of One Voice, a Palestinian-Israeli organization for promotion of dialogue and reconciliation between the two nations. One Voice is a global movement with branches in the USA, England, Spain, the Netherlands, Mexico, Israel and Palestine. On our Board there are famous and influential business, communications, politics and entertainment figures and they all endeavor to achieve peace and normalcy in the region.
