| | Ely Karmon holds a B.A. in English and French Culture from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem, a Licence in International Relations from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques and a Licence in Bantu languages from the Ecole de Langues Orientales, in Paris.
He took both his M.A and Ph.D. at the Department of Political Science at Haifa University.
Senior Research Scholar at the Institute for Counter-Terrorism at The Interdisciplinary Center (IDC) in Herzliya since 1997. He is also Senior Research Fellow at The Institute for Policy and Strategy at IDC.
Lectures on Terrorism and Guerrilla in Modern Times at The Interdisciplinary Center, Herzliya, at the IDF Military College, and at the National Security Seminar of the Galilee College.
Lectured on International Terrorism at the M.A. studies of the Political Science Dept. at Bar-Ilan University, Israel (2002/3). Lectured at the Dept. of Political Science at Haifa University (1992 – 2000) on the subjects of International Terrorism and European Extremist Parties and Organizations.

PMG is an international think tank focusing on the refinement, development and practical application of the Proteus insights (PI) and future scenarios in order to assist strategic and high-level operational decision makers, planners and analysts in critical analysis and "outside the box" consideration of national military and intelligence issues.
Served as advisor to the Israeli Ministry of Defense. Served as advisor of the Anti-Semitism Monitoring Forum of the Israeli Government Secretariat.
His fields of research include international terrorism, WMD terrorism, political violence and extremism, the strategic influence of terrorism and subversion in the Middle East and worldwide, Middle East strategic issues, racism and antisemitism Dr. Karmon has written extensively on international terrorism and has participated to numerous international conferences. His book, Coalitions Between Terrorist Organizations: Revolutionaries, Nationalists and Islamists, has been released in May 2005 by Brill Academic Publishers (Leiden & Boston).
